The music industry is a hard industry to make it in. It takes exceptional talent, dedication, and commitment to break into it, and there are no guarantees.
The music industry is a hard industry to make it in. It takes exceptional talent, dedication, and commitment to break into it, and there are no guarantees. Currently, with the rise of digital streaming services, the music industry is a whole new game primed for talent to rise to the top no matter their background. In just four short years, Shane Foster was able to rise from the ranks of the US Military to the top-of-the-charts on his own merit.
Born in Washington DC but raised in North Carolina, Shane Foster has had an impressive career. A former Army Paratrooper, Shane served with the 82nd Airborne Division and various other Special Forces Units. He is a decorated war veteran and received the Combat Action Badge during his service, along with other prestigious awards. Discharged with a disability following a traumatic brain injury, Shane immediately set his sights on entertainment after reconnecting with music.
"I've always been passionate about music, and I am very hardworking. I was able to build on that in the military," explains Shane. "Building a career in music seemed like the next step for me, and I'm glad I saw it through." The industry immediately embraced Shane, and top talent picked up on his hardworking and dedicated vibe. "People noticed how hard I was willing to work on their behalf, and artists wanted me working on their projects. They trusted me with their vision, and I am grateful for that. They gave me a chance at a second career."
It is no surprise that talented artists want Shane on their team. He has worked with famous artists such as Yo Gotti, Project Pat, and Pastor Troy. The projects Shane has worked on have generated close to five million streams. And it doesn't stop there. Shane has also organized successful multi-city tours, directed and co-directed music videos that appear on MTV and BET, and was credited for the theme song of Sharon123, a major motion picture. Shane also owns his own independent production company DFD Music with business partner Davis Chris with whom he released the highly successful album 'Hits the Collection'.
The remarkable thing about his rise in the industry is that he has done this independently with no label backing, and in just a few years. A monumental feat considering how quickly he was able to accomplish it. Many artists never see this recognition even with label backing, so Shane is clearly doing something right. Recognized for his exceptional talent by publications such as Hype, Shane is breaking out into the music scene with unlimited potential.
