July Movies On Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Zee5, Apple TV Plus, Sony LIV And Alt Balaji

While the wait for normalcy to return in the post pandemic era seems rather long, filmmakers are resorting to digital releases of their films to ease financial distress. With the number of virus cases almost doubling in most states in a span of a month, the government has issued clear guidelines to the public to stay at home as much as possible to avoid contracting an infection.

Meanwhile, OTT platforms are making the most of the situation by grabbing the digital rights of best of the movies which would have otherwise released on theatres first. With most filmmakers giving theatrical release a miss and preferring direct OTT release for their movies, OTT platforms are more than willing to accomodate.

Sufiyum Sujatayum (Malayalam)

A romantic musical, Sufiyum Sujatayujm stars Aditi Rao Hydari and Jayasurya in lead roles. The movie is about a girl from an upper caste falling head over heels with a sufi. Will she get to marry the love of her life? Watch Sufiyum Sujatayum to find out.

Kehne Ko Hamsafar Hai (Hindi)

The popular series which had streamed just 10 episodes is back and this time the remaining episodes (8 more) are being streamed. The web series by AltBalaji and zee5 is about married life complications. Kehne Ko Humsafar Hai features Mona Singh (of Jassi Jaise Koi Nahi and 3 Idiots fame), gurdeep Kohli and Ronit Roy in key roles.

Hanna Season 2 (English)

This is the second season of the popular drama. Hanna follows the journey of an extraordinary young lady who goes all out to unravel a mystery.

Breathe into the Shadows (Hindi)

An Amazon Prime original, Breathe into the Shadows is a series starring Abhishek Bachchan who plays a psychiatrist who's on the lookout for his missing daughter. Nithya Menen plays his wife while Saiyami Kher will be seen in a prominent role in this pyschological crime thriller series.

Undekhi (Hindi)

The SONY LIV original web series is a crime thriller and revolves around murder mysteries. Starring Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Harsh Chhaya and Ankur Rathee among others, Undekhi is directed by Ashish R Shukla.

Greyhound

Premieres July 10

OTT: Apple TV Plus

Starring Tom Hanks, Greyhound is a naval war drama set in the backdrop of WWII. The film has been adapted from the 1955 book The Good Shepherd authored by CS Forester. The movie is helmed by Aaron Schneider and features Stephen Graham, Elisabeth Shue and Rob Morgan.

The Old Guard

Premieres July 10

Netflix

An action flick features Charlize Theron who plays the immortal warrior Andy hired for an emergency mission. The Old Guard is based on a novel which goes by the same name and directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood.

Law (Kannada)

Premiere on July 17

OTT: Amazon Prime Video

A courtroom drama produced by Kannada power star Puneeth Rajkumar's PRK Productions, Law is directed by Raghu Samarth. Ragini Chandran makes her acting debut with this movie which also features Mukhyamantri Chandru and Siri Prahlad.

Dil Bechara

Premieres on July 24

OTT: Disney Plus hotstar

An adaptation of The Fault in Our Stars by John Green, this Hindi flick has Sushant Singh Rajput and Sanjana Singh playing lead characters. This movie marks the last film of Sushant who reportedly hanged himself to death at his Bandra bungalow in Mumbai.
