It's a known fact that there was a major mishap on the sets of Ualaganayagan Kamal Haasan's upcoming movie Indian 2. A crane collapsed during the shooting of the movie at a location near Madras last night. Three people died in the incident. Madhu, personal assistant to director Shankar, Krishna, assistant director, and a staffer Chandran were the deceased. Some 10 members in the Indian crew suffered injuries. They were soon rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Those who were hurt are being treated and recovering, sources said.

Meanwhile, the senior Kollywood actor took to social media to express his grief over the incident. He also offered his deepfelt condolences to the family of the victims. On his personal Twitter handle, Kamal Haasan posted this...

"Although seen many accidents but today's accident is horrible. I lost three friends. Rather than my pain, their family has more suffering. My deepest condolences."

The team was to head to China after wrapping up the Chennai shoot. However, due to the Coronavirus threat, the team decided to shift the location to another foreign country. The Indian 2 crew will now head to Italy to shoot important sequences.

Indian 2 is a sequel to Kamal's earlier movie by the same name. The movie is being directed by Shankar and is being made on a massive budget.
