Kollywood actor Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan have condoled the deaths of Jayaraj nd Fenix, who reportedly died of police torture in Santhakulam of Thoothukudi in Tamil Nadu.
A father-son duo, traders by profession are said to have died due to brutality of police and alleged sexual assault inside the custody at the police station in Santhakulam.
Superstar Rajinikanth's PR said that the actor made a phone call to Jayaraj's wife and offered his heartfelt condolences to the family while expressing anguish over the death of the father-son duo.
Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan too expressed anguish over the custodial dcarry deaths and slammed the Tamil Nadu government for taking the matter lightly after the govt announced suspension of the cops on duty. In a statement, Kamal demanded that the perpetrators of crime be brought to justice and said that this could happen to any of us.
While celebrities from Bollywood like Kareena, Shraddha, Jahnvi and Priyanka too offered their condolences, calling it a disgusting act, Rahul Gandhi asked his partymen in Tuticorn to light candles in front of their homes to pay homage to the Thoothukudi custodial death victims Fenix and Jayaraj.
