We have come across several Indian movies which have drawn inspiration from South Korean movies. Thanks to OTT platforms, there is a lot of demand for K dramas which are becoming high popular by the day. The vieweship is more too.

Recently, South Korean movie Parasite beat the likes of critically acclaimed Hollywood movie Joker to sweep awards at the 92nd Academy Awards. Parasite broke the 91-year-old jinx to become the first non-English movie to win an Oscar. Post that, there is a lot of curiosity over what the movie is all about. The latest we hear is that a Kollywood filmmaker is planning to sue Bon Joon-ho for drawing inspiration from a Tamil movie.

As per reports, Parasite is very similar to the KS Ravikumar directed Tamil movie Minsara Kanna which featured Thalapathy Vijay in the lead role. The film hit theatres in 1999. MA Kennedy wrote the story while Ravikumar has penned the screenplay of Minsara Kanna.

While KS Ravikumar told an English daily that he was yet to watch the movie and find out the similarities, netizens are going overboard pointing out the similarities between the two movies.

In a latest development, PL Thenappan, who was also one of the producers reportedly as the original producer KRG has passed away, said that he would file a case against Parasite maker Bong Joon-ho. Grapevine has it that the producer has even sought a legal opinion and is on the lookout for an international lawyer to sue the Korean filmmaker.

It would be interesting to watch what happens next.

It is worth mentioning here that French director Largo Winch had sued makers of Pawan Kalyan's much hyped movie Agnyaathavaasi (his last film before his political plunge) for plagiarising his movie.
