A tribute to womanhood: Atlee

The Tamil film, 'Bigil' in which the Tamil star Vijay is playing a dual role with Nayantara in the female lead role is being dubbed into Telugu as 'Whistle'.

While Koneru Mahesh is presenting the emotional sports drama under the banner of East Coast Productions, 'Whistle' is being bankrolled jointly by Kalpaathi S Aghoram, Kalpaathi S Ganesh and Kalpaathi S Suresh under the banner of AGUS entertainment, Atlee is wielding the megaphone.

Speaking to the media in Hyderabad on Wednesday, Director Harish Shankar said that he was a big fan of Atlee and watched all his films including 'Raja Rani.'

I developed goose bumps after watching the trailer of 'Whistle.' He said that Atlee did an excellent work in depicting the film on the celluloid excellently

Vijay has a lot of fan following in the two Telugu States, he added and said that it would stand out as one of the memorable movies of Atlee.

Tamil director Atlee said that he was dreaming to do a film in Telugu with NTR in the lead. He said that NTR was a person with a magnanimous heart and rings him and applauds after the release of his every film.

"It's really great to see the film being released in more than 700 theatres in TS, AP," he added. He said that Vijay was like godfather to him in the film industry.

He said that the game of football was not so popular in India and expressed the hope that people would develop some interest in football and make it popular after watching the film.

He said that 'Whistle' was also women oriented and a tribute to womanhood. The Tamil and Telugu versions are being released on October 25.
