She started 'Save Sakthi' for women empowerment and women support. Recently, Varalakshmi Sarathkumar talked about the rape incident in Pollachi. She stated that the government should not stay calm o on this but severely punish such cruel people. She pointed out that only a few from the film industry are raising their voice against this incident and the rest are just being tight-lipped which is wrong.
