Kartarpur Corridor and Pakistan's evil designs
Pakistan will open the much-awaited Kartarpur Corridor on November 9, Prime Minister Imran Khan announced on Sunday.
Pakistan will open the much-awaited Kartarpur Corridor on November 9, Prime Minister Imran Khan announced on Sunday.
As we all know, the proposed corridor will connect Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur with Dera Baba Nanak shrine in Gurdaspur district of Punjab and facilitate visa-free movement of Indian pilgrims, who will have to just obtain a permit to visit Kartarpur Sahib, which was established in 1522 by Guru Nanak Dev.
Pakistan has built the corridor from the Indian border to the Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur, while the other part from Dera Baba Nanan Punjab's Gurdaspur district up to the border has been put in place by India. So far so good.
As Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amrinder Singh repeatedly cautions India, it is the intent to be suspected of Pakistanis. There are some leaders in India who would love to hug the enemies in the name of religion and others who want to appease a religious group and hence, blindly support the Pakistani effort.
Pakistan has already revealed its colours in its inaugural video which has Bhindranwale and his associates' photos in the backdrop. To trust in Pakistan is not a wise thing.
There are already intel reports that suggest that Pakistan has brought Khalistani protagonists to Kartarpur and located them around the corridor. It is not just the Indian Sikhs who would be visiting the holy shrine.
It is going to be a key worship place for the Sikhs around the world in the years to come. Not all Sikhs in India might turn against the country, but certainly there are some elements who could be troublemakers for the country.
The brainwashing done by Pakistan Army and ISI and several other lures offered by the State and non-State forces of Pakistan could certainly be used against India.
In addition, it is a single window anti-India project for Pakistan as far as Sikhs are concerned. The embers of Khalistani movement have not been doused completely.
There are people and forces actively promoting the same and sewing venom at us from various countries. This corridor if used against India would have the potential to bring all such varied elements on to one platform and help them bond together against India.
Fund flow will be easier. That is why intel agencies are worried over the overture of Pakistan. On the one hand, we already have Kashmir conundrum.
Add a second to it in Punjab. It is a deadly potion. Pakistan is desperate to dismember India and is seething in rage at its helplessness.
Let us not forget that Pakistan has been targeting the Sikhs and Punjab relentlessly through various methods. It has been pumping in drugs and trying to smuggle weapons too.
The world is getting complicated and no one is our friend. The same voices which are now speaking on behalf of Pakistan vis a vis Kashmir could also rake up Khalistani issue in future. Let us not forget this and be alert to all such designs.
