Best destinations to visit during the holy month of Ramzan

Clinking of plates, well-lit streets, Iftar treats and the sound of Azan from mosques – Ramzan is a wonderful time for Muslims across the world. Apart from the obvious anticipation in the air, the most sacred month in the Islamic culture also creates a festive atmosphere. There are some Indian cities, in particular, that celebrate Ramzan in an exquisite manner.

Srinagar

The Ramzan atmosphere of Srinagar remains the classiest amongst all. The human alarm clocks, i.e. the Sehar Khans go around the city beating drums to remind Muslims to wake up for the early pre-dawn (Sehri meal). What's more, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir also has a lot to offer to the foodies. Ajmer

A special ritual is done in Ajmer during Ramzan that sets it apart from the rest of the Indian Cities – the Cannon shot Firing at the Tara Hill to mark the beginning and the end of the fast's tenure. General markets pertaining to Ramzan are set up in various locations. Ajmer also boasts of homely Iftar Parties, so if you are in luck, you might get the chance to experience one. A visit to the heavenly Dargah (shrine) of Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti should definitely be on your checklist.
