Its Chandramana Ugadi. We keep calender both ways, both according to Solar sign and Lunar sign. Lunar sign is very significant in terms of birth or physical origin we are because this is a fact which determines how our mother body is and we are born out of that. So Lunar calendar is as important as Solar Calandar.

Ugadi is marking lunar new year. Particularly in Northern Hemisphere of the planet there is a new beginning of physical nature of life. This is out time to renew the body, renew our soul. This is the time to renew everything. Lets make use of Ugadi to commit ourselves to build ourselves into healthy and wonderful human beings. For this we must understand the Planet which we we live, soil of which we are made of, the water which is integral part of who we are, Air you breathe. All these things should be renewed.
