Suman Ratan Singh Rao the beauty charm of India, based out of Rajasthan, has much to share when it comes to her victorious journey in the glamour world.
She has won the Femina Miss India World 2019 beauty pageant and now 20-year-old Suman, who is also a college student, will represent India at Miss World 2019 in London.
Suman was in the city to unveil the new line of wedding and festive footwear collection at Centro.
Choosing the best-learned lessons of her life to follow, she shares, "I came to the fashion industry for a purpose. I am working on a project called 'Pragati', which is 'Beauty with a Purpose' project. It is a very important part of Miss World.
Chairperson of the Miss World Organisation, Julia Morley has started this project so that every beauty queen has a purpose through which she can contribute to society.
This side of the pageantry world attracted me. I wanted to make women more independent so that they are financially stable and have equal status in the society.
The project is going on in my village near Udaipur and tribal areas of the Dungarpur district, Rajasthan. I started this project from my hometown to bring the change, then the country and next in the world."
The beauty queen, who is also a Kathak dancer. She says it will help her at Miss World compeetition. "It's been four years since I have learnt Kathak; it helped me a lot.
The classical dance form of India has a positive aspect, it gives you calmness, and helps you to become more disciplined.
I am very fond of dance since childhood. The dance may help me to represent our country at the world level because we will have a dance round in the competition."
Every contestant has to follow certain lifestyle to stay fit. She gives details about her fitness routine, "My fitness mantra is to avoid junk food.
I try to eat homemade food as much as possible. I recently started going to the gym and I do pilates. Fitness is also about drinking lots of water and having good sleep.
One should eat food that suits one's body and overeating should be avoided - once you feel that you are full, you should stop eating.
When you make yourself determined towards fitness or a particular goal in life, every single nerve and fibrr of your body starts working towards the direction for a victorious journey."
Like other beauty pageant winners, she also loves to be part of Bollywood or Tollywood. Regarding her interest in the film industry, she says, "I have seen people struggling to be a part of movies. I would love to act if I am given a break.
It's something which takes effort and hard work, and I would say that the toughest job on the earth is to be in this industry because it needs a lot of talent. And it will be a big opportunity for me if I get it."
This was her first visit to Hyderabad, and she says she would love to explore the city more as she heard a lot about it. She says, "I am born in Rajasthan and grew up in Mumbai and both the cities are equally important for me.
And, every city I visit in India also plays a very important role in my life. It's all about how you feel. If you are comfortable, then you can feel at home in any corner of the world."
