Speaking for the Saree

Saree Speak group of Hyderabad had its first mega meet in Hyderabad on 13 April at Moonshine Project in Hyderbad.

The meet was attended by about 100 women who are passionate about handlooms especially sarees, sisterhood and bonding.

The Saree Speak group which was started in 2016 on Facebook by Vini has more than 1 lakh members who love wearing a saree .

Poornima Hatt, one of the prime organisers feels such get-togethers are important to highlight the beautiful, elegant and magical six yards. "We have to collectively put efforts to promote our traditional wear across the world and especially the younger generation."

This cause has spread far and wide and women from many countries have adopted the saree.

Many such groups have formed in the recent past which are quite popular on social media, and support the cause of retaining the traditional saree.

These groups help to inform, enlighten, retain, promote and help all the people to use and those who take part in creating this beautiful 6 yards like traders, weaver, artists and creators.
