The University Grants Commission (UGC) has conferred autonomous status on Annamacharya institute of Technology & Sciences, Tirupati for a period of ten years (2019- 20 to 2028-2029) vide letter No.F.22-1/2017(AC) dated 24.06.2019.

Hyderabad: The University Grants Commission (UGC) has conferred autonomous status on Annamacharya institute of Technology & Sciences, Tirupati for a period of ten years (2019- 20 to 2028-2029) vide letter No.F.22-1/2017(AC) dated 24.06.2019.

UGC had granted autonomous status to the College based on receiving exemplary report on Infrastructure, quality of teachers and optimised learning – teaching methodologies from the UGC Expert committee, which had visited the college here in April this year. The "A" Grade accreditation from NAAC and accreditation of courses by National Board of Accreditation have enabled AITS-Tirupati to progress towards being conferred Autonomy. As per the statement issued by Dr. C. Nadhamuni Reddy, Principal of AITS-Tirupati, the college has now been given the freedom to design syllabi, introduce new programmes and courses, introduce innovative assessment and testing patterns, conduct examinations and announce results, receive development grants from the UGC, to start new courses and enter into academic collaboration with top 500 universities of the world . Students graduating from AITS will continue to receive their Degrees from JNTU, Anantapur.
