The university launches new undergraduate specialisations in engineering, business management, law and economics
Hyderabad: BML Munjal University launches new undergraduate specialisations in engineering, business management, law and economics BML Munjal University (BMU), Hero Group's not-for-profit university, announced the launch of eight new undergraduate courses – B Sc (Hons.) Economics, BBA with Business Analytics specialisation, BBA-LLB and BA-LLB on Monday.
The university has also launched the specialisations for B Tech courses Mechanical Engineering to offer specialisation in Automobile Engineering and Robotics and Automation; Civil Engineering to offer construction management and smart city and sustainable management; Electronics and Communication Engineering to offer specialisation in Internet of Things; Computer Science and Engineering to offer specialisation in Cyber Security and Data Science and Artificial Intelligence.
The courses are designed to meet the growing demand for specialised skills, and the changing market and economic conditions. BML Munjal University believes that it's important for education to equip students that will help them both to make meaningful contribution to society as well as thrive in the dynamic workplace of tomorrow.
The new courses and specialisations are based on an innovative pedagogical approach, which is much more hands-on and experience-driven rather than mere delivery of knowledge. The experiential learning environment centres around five key themes – 1. Creative Visualisation of Practice; 2. Role-play and Prototyping; 3. Collaboration and Working in Virtual Teams; 4. Ethical Leadership oriented Entrepreneurial Initiatives; 5. Technology based Gamification.
According to Dr Vishal Talwar, Dean, School of Management, BML Munjal University: "Our new courses are designed considering the essential skills required by students to meet the challenges of the dynamic workplace and to boost their career in respective fields. Under BMU's experiential learning format, besides theoretical and experimental knowledge, the students are also exposed to working on various projects. We have ambitious plans for the university, and we expect to continue to draw the best students."
BBA with specialisation in Business Analytics
As the world is progressing into digitalisation, there is dire need for the analyst to tame the 3 V's of data i.e. volume, variety and velocity (3 V's) for business decision making. The BBA at BMU aims to develop and hone the analytical skills sets of undergraduate business students by offering with courses.
B Sc (Hons) Economics
The course provides a mathematical and statistical focus to the subject and aims at providing a better understanding of global issues. It also helps students attain a deeper, more nuanced understanding of possible explanations and their extensive influences on the society. The course covers various subjects including microeconomics, macroeconomics, sociology, psychology, computer economy, Indian economy and more. On successful completion of the programme students will gain superior analytical and econometric skills that are not currently offered in the domain, making them stand-alone personalities in the job market.
BBA-LLB
BBA-LLB (Bachelor of Business Administration & Bachelor of Legislative Law) is a five-year integrated law course wherein students are taught subjects related to Business Administration as well as Law. BMU professors guide the students in improving their analytical ability, logical reasoning, and communication skills. As part of the course students are taught commerce and law subjects such as principles of management, financial accounting, computer applications, effective communication, law of torts, family law, constitutional law, property law, company law, administrative law, civil law and criminal law.
BA-LLB
BA-LLB (Bachelor of Arts + Bachelor of Legislative Law) is a five-year dual degree professional course in administrative law. It covers subjects related to Arts field such as Economics, History, Sociology and Political Science etc. alongside specialized fields of law like Criminal Law, Corporate Law, Patent Law, Administrative Law, Tax Law, International Law and Labor Law. At BMU, the objective of this course is to enables the students to think critically in a creative way and come up with innovative ideas to tackle the aforesaid legal issues.
On completion of B Sc Economics (Hons.), students can get jobs, both in private and government sectors. Depending on the interest and skills, BBA Business Analytics graduates can get jobs data aggregation, data mediation and data visualization in various Data Analytics firms.
The law students can get an opportunity to work as Attorney Generals, Public Prosecutors and Judges in various fields such as litigation, law firms, legal process outsourcing, government agencies.
