'Chal for Jal' marathon held

Hyderabad: On Saturday, Naya Aakar Foundation, a research-based NGO conducted a marathon, "Chal for Jal" at Necklace Road on the occasion of World Water Day with the sole purpose of creating awareness amongst the citizens regarding the deteriorating water bodies and contributing towards "Clean Hussainsagar campaign".

The event started at 6:15 am with a Zumba dance followed by the marathon.

The run started from the People's Plaza up to Jalavihar Park, Hyderabad. Bharath Bhushan, noted social activist was present as the guest of honour for the event and the run started as he cut the ribbon.

The marathon had around 150 – 200 participants and spectators from varying age groups.

The top 10 participants were felicitated by trophy, gift hampers and cash prizes.

The event had indeed played its part in spreading awareness and trying to bring a change in the society.

Naya Aakar Foundation founded by Sanyam Bindal, a student of law comprises many talented youngsters who are making possible efforts to mould this world into a better place.

They just not believe in the literal meaning of life, but celebrating the same.
