Edtech player turns VC for kids

Mumbai: Whizjuniors, a social gamified edtech platform is redefining the way online education is taking its shape in the country. Brainchild of Vidushi Daga which began operations in 2015, it has done remarkably well in educating both students and teachers in online computer courses from basics to advance in a fun and competitive way which has gathered focus across the country with its ever-growing size.

Whizjuniors has turned VC and invests Rs.1 crore in innovate ideas generated by three students to shape their entrepreneurial future.

The world is now largely moving towards incubating new ideas which would solve address several real problems in the society. Hence, the youth needs to be groomed to enter the world of entrepreneurship by putting into use their existing ideas and building meaningful business or work model out of it.

The whole purpose is to build a pool of tech geniuses in the country and the 3 students who have been identified for this are selected on the basis of their regular performance and ideas which they have contributed.

The three students who have been identified are- Namya Joshi, a class 7th student from Sat Paul Mittal School in Ludhiana, Kushagra Agarwal, a class 8th student from Presidency NLO, Bangalore, Shreyas Shriram, a class 10th student from MDAV Public School, Hyderabad.

The company will be investing 20 per cent for incubating these students for their further entrepreneurship development and will be investing 70 per cent of the amount once their company starts operations and the rest 10 per cent will be shared with their school computer teachers' till the child eventually starts operations of the company.

Whizjuniors will be taking a few students every month who will be invited for training after they finish their final examination for the grade and from amongst them will select the best to invest upon.

Upbeat on the development, Vidushi Daga, CEO, Whizjuniors commented "We have turned as VC for students who are very active on our leading Edtech platform and have completed multiple courses. We have been very successful in making these kids think independently and generate innovative ideas for the last four years. We now decided to invest in some of the best ideas and make them reach commercial level. Kids have vast potential and inexhaustible capacity to learn and grow which is what we want to nurture."
