GITAM campus placements cross 2,200 mark

The event was conducted to celebrate the issue of over 2200 placement orders to the final year students in the recent campus recruitments conducted by 150 MNCs. The achievers include 80 percent engineering students while the rest have done MBA, MSc, MCA, M Pharmacy, MBA Fin Tech, MA English and B Arch.

Commending the students on their achievement, GITAM Vice-President said that it was a record that 2200 appointment orders were issued on a single day in the state of Andhra Pradesh.
He advised that students to continue to do their best in their respective organisations and live up to the reputation of the university.
GITAM Chancellor Prof K Ramakrishna Rao exhorted students to adopt ethical and moral values and one their soft skills to be successful in their careers.
GITAM In-Charge Vice-Chancellor Prof K Sivaramakrishna mentioned that FinTech valley, HCL Amaravathi, China manufacturing companies, Kiya motors are giving a chance to Andhra Pradesh students to prove their talents.
He thanked the state government for creating new job opportunities in Andhra Pradesh for engineering and management students.
He appreciated the foresight of some mechanical engineering students and some teachers for having registered their innovative models to secure patent rights for their creations.
GITAM Joint Secretary M Bharadwaj advised the students to focus more are skill development in early age rather than concentrating high salaries.
Registrar Prof KVGD Balaji, Training &Placement Director Commander Gurumoorthi Gangadharan and others participated in the program.
New Placement Opportunities: Recruitment Trends
This year, the drives have been focussing on niche skill sets instead of standard engineering skill sets.
Project ready students are preferred over generic engineering graduates.
The recruiters offer handsomely paid Internships to the selected students to assess the potential of the candidates and earmark them for future projects.
Deloitte, Invenio, Value Labs & Cognizant have offered Paid internships to the shortlisted candidates.
Well-known corporate recruiters Microsoft, Value Labs, TCS Digital, Informatica, NCR are offered product development roles.
Deloitte, Invenio and Accenture provided opportunities for the students in IT consultancy. State Street Drive opened up the Finance sector.
TCS Codevita selected the best coders and TCS Ninja has given opportunity to large number of students through a national level test.
IT Major Cognizant has picked BTech & MTech students for the role of Cyber Security Engineer.
The Drive focussed on skill sets related to IT Security, Network Protocols, learning ability and strong communication skills.
In another Drive, HCL recruited engineering students for the role of Embedded Developers/ Semi-conductor based design and validation engineers.
The selected students will have the opportunity of working with HCL's Vijayawada R&D Centre, being set up afresh.
China Star Optoelectronics Technology (CSOT) has selected engineering students including one MBA candidate from GITAM for their Tirupathi manufacturing unit.
