He was the chief guest in the GITAM Deemed-to-be University, Hyderabad Annual Day-2019 Celebrations in Shivaji Auditorium on Tuesday.
'All of us have inherent abundant talents, that we call it as potential and convert it as the ability which is helpful throughout life', he said.
The Chief Guest felicitated the top performers in academics and organising events/social activities; academics and sports; academics and co-curricular activities; academics and arts/literary events, and winners of various sports competitions by distributing prizes.
He also distributed the certificates to the student bodies, those who have participated in various events in the 2018-19 academic year.
Prof N Siva Prasad and Prof P V Sivapullaiah, Pro Vice-Chancellors, GITAM presented an overview of the happenings in the school in the present Academic Session.
Earlier, the celebrations started with traditional and classical dance and it was followed by welcome speech by Prof A Sreeram, Director, Students Affairs.
Prof Ch Sanjay, Principal, School of Technology, Prof G A Rama Rao, Principal, School of Science, Prof G S Kumar, Principal, School of Pharmacy, Prof Sunil Kumar, Director, School of Architecture, HoDs of various departments, staff and students were also present on the occasion.
Dimple Talasila, Yalamandala Jaswanth and Venkata Naveen Medarammetla in Academics/Events Organization/Social Activities; R Jaswanth Kumar, Vishesh Kedia and B V D Vardhan Kumar in Academics/Sports Activities; A S Chandrasekhar, Kulkarni Nikhil and V Praveen Kumar in Academic/Co-curricular Activities and VSLB Raghnya, C Hitesh Raj and D Meghana in
Academics/Arts/Literary Activities received gold medals for their merits in the above areas.
Various student bodies, GITAM Annual Fest 'Pramana-2K19' Committee and Games & Sports teams received appreciation letters.
GITAM, Hyderabad faculty- Dr G Yugandhar, Dr Y Md Riyazuddin, Dr Amit Kumar, Dr Ann Mary George, Dr Narsimhulu Dunna, Dr Sivareddy Annem, Dr Kanaka Durga Bhaskar Yamajala and Dr Celli Kavya who successfully completed the Ph.Ds in this academic year (2018-19) were felicitated with a shawl and memento.
