With the aim of inculcating moral values, positive thinking, attitude of helping and to society and ethical values among students, Mirza Mohammed Ali Baig (Abid Pasha) in the name of his mother started Khutaija Khatoon Educational society in 2004.

The society runs The Progress Group of Institutions (TPGI) which now has three schools, a junior college and a degree college with campuses in Bahadurpura, Bandlaguda and Falaknuma. All the campuses leave an everlasting pleasantly fresh impression.

These beautiful and spacious campuses induce in the children a desire to come to the school every day. Each campus is well equipped with necessary monitoring safety and security measures. The infrastructure provided is of premier quality.

The institutions under the guidance of Correspondent Mirza Mustafa Ali Baig not only concentrate on academic excellence but also ensuring holistic development of students. The curriculum is designed to nurture new ways of thinking, visualizing and processing ideas in the minds of students.

The schools have a dynamic, dedicated and well experienced team of teachers. They play multi-facet role of a teacher showing their students the path to success in all walks of life. They are not bounded to the class-rooms alone but also help to clear doubts and dispel social fears of students. Though well talented, they undergo capsule training sessions conducted by reputed academic institutions to keep themselves updated with the latest trend in education and making themselves capable of generating global talents.

The other pillars of TPGI are Vice-Chairman Mirza Ahmed Ali Baig, Managing Director Mirza Ibrahim Ali Baig, Principal Mir Shujath Ali and Rita Saxena, Director.

Excerpts from an interview with Mirza Ahmed Ali Baig, Vice-Chairman

What is your vision?

To provide a happy, caring and stimulating environment where children will recognise and achieve their fullest potential, so that they can contribute their best to the society. We prepare for the 'real-world'. Students learn the best when they are engaged in a meaningful challenge.

What are the extracurricular activities taken up in the school?

Creative arts enrich students. The schools have state-of-art auditorium. Co-curricular activities are a must for the all round development of a child. Only study without other activity makes students dull and restless. Considering this, a lot of activities are planned to keep the momentum going. Literary activities-essay writing, elocution, debate, extempore and many more are being organised. Cultural activities are included apart from sports and games.

What are the teaching techniques adopted for teaching in your school?

The process of choosing the teacher is rigorous. Interactive digital boards are used in all the classrooms to make learning easier. The students are kept engaged through interactive teaching methodology that ensures their active involvement. The teachers do not restrict them to the classroom teaching alone. They help the students to overcome their fear, anxieties and worries and encourage them to perform well in academics.

Information and communication technology has become part and parcel of contemporary education. Today, life becomes standstill without technology. At TPGI, students make best use of modern technology with progressive guidelines of their teachers. Well furnished Information and Communications Technology (ICT) labs are made available with adequate software and high end machines. Students make best use of internet to gather subject-related information to hone their knowledge.

What are the facilities at school?

Library is the cynosure of the school. It is exclusively designed with variety of books provided on various subjects to boost better learning. It has a wide range of meticulously selected reference books, question banks, magazines, periodicals, newspaper and CD's/DVDs. Reading habits are encouraged among students by allocating sufficient time in their schedule. The ambience suits the reading tastes of all age groups, including teaching staff.

We understand that practicals should be incorporated with theories for better understanding. The schools have well-equipped with Physics, Chemistry, life science and IT labs. The students perform practicals under the guidance of well experienced subject teachers. The management and staff have applied their best efforts and skills to design the labs useful and safe for the students. Skilled lab assistants are employed in each to keep the laboratories updated and ready for practicals.

Math lab has been planned to ease the contemporary education and diminish Maths phobia among the students. Students are encouraged to participate in Science project and exhibitions to install creativity among them. The students are exposed to different competitions to develop their communication skills.

Mirza Mohammed Ali Baig said "TPGI is the foundation for new generation of leaders and innovators who will continue to pave the way for a better and bright future of the country. It is indeed a profound opportunity and distinct privilege to serve in the noble cause of imparting education to the children.

The Progress Institutions are dedicated to pursuit of academic excellence, encouraging students to become independent and creative thinkers, confident, enlightened learners and socially responsible citizens.

We are committed to inculcate in all our students, strong ethical values of integrity, respect and discipline. In order to achieve all these, we follow a rigorous programme based on best educational practices.

I set myself to create a world-class premier schools, junior colleges & degree colleges that serve as nurturing ground for the students from diverse background, ethnicities and intellectual potential."

Mirza Ahmed Ali Baig said, "We continue to develop and enhance a school that reflects that values. We strive for the highest academic standards and focus on the development of the whole child. The thirst for knowledge is not restricted to the child. It is also essential for a parent and a teacher to keep adding to their knowledge bank. I have an open door policy and request all parents to take this opportunity to discuss any issue with me so that we can move forward together."
