Design courses like Textiles, Knitwear, Lifestyle accessories, Fashion Communication, Leather Design and fashion designing is a creative and demanding career option, especially for those who love to study designing and being creative. If you want to have a career in the fashion Industry and technology, you need to have either a diploma or degree program, for that you need to crack NIFT.

The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) every year conducts exams to filter the competent candidates who want to pursue various Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses in fashion and design, incorporating technology with them. These courses are as the Bachelor of Design (B.Des), the Bachelor of Fashion Technology (B.F.Tech), the Master of Design (M.Des), the Master of Fashion Technology (M.F.Tech), and, the Master of Fashion Management (M.F.M).

Work on your imagination and creative ability

Imagination is one of the biggest talents you need for the fashion industry, whether it is to create new clothing design or to create new trends in house designing. Imaginations and creativity is something which is a must. Also Improve Observation and try to learn from whatever you see.

Creativity is something which can only increase by building passions, exposure to innovative ideas, and inner thinking. So, you need to increase your observation capacity and observational abilities.

Practice Sample Papers and Improve your Speed

Practicing old practice paper can always help in understanding paper and questioning patterns. You can get a clear picture of the difficulty level of questions and how you can solve them in a given time period. One of the important factors that you need to keep in mind is time management. It is important to answer all the questions in a given time period.

Take challenges on everyday basis

Candidate must plan and solve 10 questions of GAT every day, 10 quick sketches every day to improve observation and speed

More efforts on sketching skills

One of the important expertises you need for the Design industry is sketching. It is important to put your ideas on paper, so that you can express your ideas. if you are unable to do so, your creative idea has no value. To improve your sketching, you need to pay extra attention to it. You need to know how you can reflect your observation and creativity and uniqueness through your drawing. Over the period of time with constant practice you can develop your sketching ability.

Make visual presentation your regular habit

Visual makes a long-lasting impact in our lives and helps create an innovative idea. Combination of visuals along with text increases the ability to remember the information for a longer Period.

It is not practically possible to go through the whole syllabus at a time of revision. Make short notes for important topics so that you can revise them on the move. It always increases the chances of performing well in tests. Try to stay calm and cool by keeping yourself optimistic. Designing is all about the practical approach. Avoid copying anything directly, take inspiration from the references to design your own work. Practice makes a man perfect, watch less and work more.

It is important for candidates to be mentally and physically fit before exams. You should not have last minute stress. Take a regular break and leave your book a couple days before your exam and stay cool and relax.
