Hyderabad: Telangana's B V Raju Institute of Technology (BVRIT), established by the eminent philanthropist (Late) Padmabhushan Dr B V Raju under the aegis of Sri Vishnu Educational Society (SVES) in the year 1997 receives the most prestigious NIRF ranking by the Union Ministry of Human Resources Development.
The NIRF(Natinoal Institutional Ranking Framework) is an initiative developed by Ministry of Human Resources Development(MHRD), Govt of India. The Ranking was released recently at VigyanBhavan in Delhi by the President of India, Shir Ram NathKovind.
The 21 years old institution based at Narsapur in the outskirts of the Hyderabad city achieved a rank of 168 in national wide engineering institutions. It stood 7th position among the Telangana State private engineering colleges and 10 among government and private colleges.
This ranking according to Sri KV Vishnu Raju, Chairman, will benefit the institute in terms of greater national recognition, better employment opportunities for students and more government funding scope to the institute.
This framework outlines a methodology to rank institutions across the country. The methodology draws from the overall recommendations broad understanding arrived at by a Core Committee set up by MHRD, to identify the broad parameters for ranking various universities and institutions.
The parameters broadly cover "Teaching, Learning and Resources," "Research and Professional Practices," "Graduation Outcomes," "Outreach and Inclusivity," and "Perception".
