Gurugram: In an exclusive and a highly insightful opportunity, Droom, India's pioneering online automobile transactional marketplace, hosted the 4th edition of its annual e-Commerce Day. Held at the Droom Campus in Sector-18, Gurugram on Saturday, the event witnessed an active participation of over 200+ students pursuing their courses in reputed B-schools and technical institutes, aspiring entrepreneurs, and people who are inclined towards e-commerce.
Students from different IIM's like IIM Kozhikode, IIM Lucknow, IIM Shillong, IIM Kashipur, IIM Indore, and IIM Udaipur participated in the session. Moreover, students from IIT Delhi, IIT Roorkee, IIT Kharagpur, NSIT, DTU, Great Lakes Institute, MDI, IMI Delhi, ISB Hyderabad, and NMIMS also participated in the session to gain a nuance of entrepreneurship and e-commerce Industry.
The event gave these attendees a productive opportunity to gather valuable insights from and interact with serial entrepreneur, unicorn founder, philanthropist and Droom's founder and CEO Sandeep Aggarwal along with other imminent industry veterans and experts.
The event proved to be a highly constructive and enjoyable experience for the attendees, with valuable interactions, pep talks, journey highlights, and brainstorming opportunities. At the event, Sandeep emphasised upon the transformational shift brought by the digital-led segment amidst all industries and domains.
The example of Droom, India's largest and most innovative e-commerce automobile startup, stood out as a key inspiration for the young minds that aspire to build a career in e-commerce or embark upon their own entrepreneurial venture. Moreover, attendees also got to witness the life at Droom through an office tour, which was followed by an entertaining yet perceptive networking opportunity with employees and campus hired at the organization. To add to the fun quotient, two competitions were also held for all the attendees. Shashank Kulshresta and Manik Garg won the live tweet competition while Shivangi Lohiya won the selfie competition.
During his keynote speech, Sandeep Aggarwal, Founder and CEO, Droom said, "It is no hidden fact that India is undergoing a digital revolution at present. The immense power of internet is leading to holistic social transformation along with robust economic development. With the median age of India being 26 years at present, the youth of the country has the responsibility upon them to take this forward with their groundbreaking ideas, capabilities, and aspirations. At this event, Sandeep Aggarwal also deliberated upon the structural constraints to establishing a retail business in India, and how the e-commerce industry has emerged as a solution addressing the same. Some informative and interactive panels were also organized to brief the importance of each department to the audience and answer questions posed by the young minds. Campus-hired employees at Droom also gave the pep talks about their experience of working at Droom in order to motivate students to venture into the world of e-commerce.
With significant insights and interactions like these shared at the 4th e-Commerce Day, the future entrepreneurial generation was offered a real-world picture of what it takes to turn an idea into reality, and successfully sustain in the rapidly progressing e-commerce ecosystem.
