Visakhapatnam: GEM -2020 a huge hit among students

Visakhapatnam: The 20th edition of GITAM Excellence Meet-2020 (GEM), the annual management and cultural festival of GITAM Institute of Management has attracted 1500 participants from 50 institutions across the state here on Friday. The flagship events across business domains including marketing, operations, finance, event management, human resources are meant to give students a hands-on experience of management and expose them to a competition of national scale.

While inaugurating the GEM-2020 festival GITAM Vice-Chancellor Prof K Sivaramakrishna stated how such events are a good complement to the academic rigour and a great way to hone skills.

He explained the importance of quality in every facet of life and elaborated on how it could be achieved with a spirit of collaboration. Attributes of integrity and credibility were vital to become better leaders, he added. GITAM Institute of Management Director Prof Y Gowtham Rao, GITAM Chief Innovation Officer Dr Krish, GEM-2020 CEO K B Vihara Varma, Convener Dr P Manjusree also participated in the inaugural ceremony. As part of the festival, the organisers conducted business quiz, digital marketing competitions, cultural competitions, minute to win it, public speaking competition, social media challenges and workshops on acting, stock market to improve the participant's managerial knowledge and abilities. The organisers arranged a carnival rally on the campus.
