IPL's 13th edition started on 19 September with Mumbai Indians loosting to three-time winners Chennai Super Kings in Abu Dhabi in the opening match of IPL 2020. The 13th Season of Indian Premier League initially scheduled to be played in India and due ongoing pandemic and the subsequent lockdown led the tournament to be held in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah.
