The Karnataka government has ordered a Magisterial probe into the violence that took place on Tuesday.

The violence has left 70 police personnel, and 36 civilians injured in the attacks by the miscreants. Three persons were killed when police opened fire to quell the infuriated mob.

Pulakeshinagar MLA Akhanda Srinivas Murthy's kin who was responsible for this mayhem was arrested at about 2 am on Wednesday. By then, the angry mob had attacked KG Halli and DG Halli police stations and had injured many police personnel.

About 17 vehicles were set ablaze and 73 vehicles were damaged. 145 people were arrested in this connection and one of them is Muzammil Pasha, a leader of the state unit of the Social democratic party of India. While the police are tight-lipped about the number of rounds fired some say about twenty rounds were fired.

Revenue minister Ashoka said that the manner in which riots were perpetrated shows that it was a well planned act intended to spread to the other parts of the city and said these traitors have to be subdued.

Karnataka has hinted that it would confiscate the properties of the rioters which follows the example of UP Government. Police are going through the CCTV footage in this connection. It all started when a close kin of a Congress MLA posted a derogatory content on Facebook hurting the sentiments of a certain community.
