Kelloor murder mystery busted; rapist killer held

Mysuru: Periyapatna police have traced the identity of girl, whose body was found burning on the road near Kelloor village in Periyapatna taluk in Mysuru district on November 8. And the accused who had allegedly raped and murdered her were arrested.
The deceased has been identified as Bhagya (18), a native of Hullalli of Nanjangud taluk of Mysuru district. The accused has been identified as Siddaraju native of Karalapura of Nanjangud taluk.
According to the police, Bhagya worked as typist at an advocate's office in Hullalli. Bhagya and Siddaraju were said to be in love, but Siddaraju is said to have refused to marry her. So, on November 7, Siddaraju along with his friend Prasanna Kumar had taken Bhagya in a car. Siddaraju had allegedly raped her and murdered her and set fire to her body on the road near Kelloor village in Periyapatna taluk and escaped.
While Bhagya's father Mahadevshetty had lodged a missing complaint with Hullalli police on November 9, based on mobile tower location of Bhagya's mobile number, the police have cracked the case. With her clothes and anklets, the police had identified her. The police succeeded in arresting Siddaraju and they are looking for Prasanna Kumar, native of Chamalapurahundi of Nanjangud taluk, for allegedly supporting Siddaraju for the murder.
The Periyapatna police who have registered the case are investigating.
