Maya Hawke joined the most talked about teen gang on Netflix as a Stranger Things season 3 star right now. After waiting a year and a half to launch the third season of Stranger Things, fans of the science fiction show were doubly excited to see the introduction of new characters in Hawkins' small town, such as Robin, Steve Harrington's co-worker at Starcourt Mall's ice cream parlor. But who is Robin and why in this new season are we so excited about her? Well, let's not ignore the obvious fact that we are introducing a brilliant new female character into the main cast.

Together with the character of Millie Bobby Brown, Eleven, and Max of Sadie Sink, Robin closes the gap in the show between the number of male and female teenagers. The internet is also going crazy for Maya Hawke, the actress behind the character of Robin, who is also the daughter of Hollywood actors Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke. It is impossible to ignore the close similarity between Hawke and her parents. Having previously played Jo March in Little Women's 2017 BBC miniseries adaptation, Hawke is no stranger to the TV screen, yet she has been rocked into the spotlight by joining the most popular teenage gang.

Ethan Hawke is seriously proud of his daughter's recent release of Stranger Things 3 in Netflix for her role. The actor who shares Maya with Uma Thurman and was snubbed alongside Toni Collette at this year's Academy Awards, the 48-year-old Training Day, publicly praised the 21-year-old in an Instagram gushing post. "Maybe some of you missed her in Little Women's BBC production last year," Ethan wrote her character Robin in her Scoops Ahoy gear alongside a promo video.

"Some of you may have missed her job at Juilliard. I know many missed out on numerous high school productions – heck I even missed a few and I'm her father. Some of you may know her music, some may not. But Ladies & Gentleman, get to know MAYA HAWKE. She's the real thing."
