Andhra Pradesh Elections 2024 LIVE Updates
After a high decibel campaign, including by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and top leaders of Congress and BRS, the stage is now set for polling on Monday to elect 175 Assembly and 25 Lok Sabha seats in Andhra Pradesh.
The Election Commission has made elaborate arrangements to conduct free and free and fair polls. Prominent leaders including Chief Minister Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu, Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan, BJP state chief D Purandeswari and APCC president YS Sharmila are in the fray.

Tension prevailed at Panchedu village of Butchireddy Palem mandal Kovuru Constituency following clash between YSRCP TDP functionaries while a section of people canvasing in favor YSRCP Kovuru nominee Nallapureddy Prasananna Kumar Reddy at Polling booth in the village leads both YSRCP, TDP activists entered heat exchange. Police rushed to the spot dispersed the mob by resorting slight latchi charge. It is said to have some activities in both parties received injuries.

There are a total of 207 candidates trying to win the hearts of the electors from the 12 assembly constituencies.
The prominent persons in the fray from the YSR Congress Party include Balineni Srinivasa Reddy from Ongole, Dr Audimulapu Suresh from Kondapi, Merugu Nagarjuna from Santhanuthalapadu, Burra Madhusudan Rao from Kandukur, and Dr Buchepalli Sivaprasad Reddy from Darsi while from the TDP include Damacharla Janardhana Rao from Ongole, Yeluri Sambasiva Rao from Prachur, Gottipati Ravi Kumar from Addanki, Dr Dola Sribalaveeranjaneya Swamy from Kodapi, and from the Congress party includes Amanchi Krishna Mohan from Chirala.
Large serpentine queues are formed at almost all of the polling booths, as most of the women and the old-aged voters wish to cast their vote before the temperatures go high. The district election officer and other staff are monitoring the polling in the district from the Command and Control Centre at the collectorate in Ongole.

EVMs not working at Cherakupalli
Bapatla EVMs were not working at Chrakupalli Panchayat booth no 244.at Chrakupalli mandal of Bapatla district.As a result, voting for MP candidate yet to start.Officilas on polling duty complained to the higher officials.
