Andhra Pradesh Elections 2024 LIVE Updates
After a high decibel campaign, including by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and top leaders of Congress and BRS, the stage is now set for polling on Monday to elect 175 Assembly and 25 Lok Sabha seats in Andhra Pradesh.
The Election Commission has made elaborate arrangements to conduct free and free and fair polls. Prominent leaders including Chief Minister Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu, Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan, BJP state chief D Purandeswari and APCC president YS Sharmila are in the fray.

Polling begins in AP
Polling begins at the 46,389 polling stations in 175 assembly constituencies and 25 Lok Sabha constituencies in the state at 7 a.m. this morning. The Election Commission has made elaborate arrangements for the polling. The Election Commission staff conducted mock polling since 5.30 a.m. and verified the EVMs. Over 4.24 crore voters are in Andhra Pradesh and Voters Information Slips were distributed in most polling station limits. The election staff arrived the polling stations yesterday afternoon and made arrangements for the peaceful conduct of polls. Read More

Chittoor district collector S Shan Mohan said that enquiry is on regarding the missing of polling agents in 188,189,190 polling booths of Sadum Mandal of Punganur constituency. It was said that they were found in Piler. It may noted that Minister and YSRCP senior leader Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy is contesting from this constituency.

Mock polling held at all polling stations in the erstwhile Chittoor district from 5.30 am. No technical glitches were reported in any of the polling booths across the 14 assembly segments. Polling officials are ready to start actual polling from 7 am.
Voters have to cast their first vote for MP candidate and next to MLA candidate. Voters are slowly reaching polling centres to cast their votes. Several leaders including candidates are expected to exercise their franchise at 7 am itself before going to monitor the poll trends across the constituencies.

Andhra Pradesh's Vijayawada LS constituency, a battlefield for two brothers
The Vijayawada Parliamentary constituency has emerged as the battleground between brothers K Srinivas of Andhra Pradesh's ruling YSRCP and K Sivanath, candidate of the main opposition TDP in the May 13 Lok Sabha polls.
While Srinivas is a seasoned politician, a transport tycoon-turned-politician, his younger brother Sivanath, also a businessman, is trying his electoral luck for the first time. Srinivas (58), the older brother, was a key TDP leader until some months ago but differences with some party leaders at the local and state level compelled him to jump ship to the Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy-led YSRCP in January, according to his supporters. EC to use 1.6 lakh EVMs for simultaneous LS, Assembly polls in Andhra Pradesh
Andhra Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Mukesh Kumar Meena on Sunday said 1.6 lakh new Electronic Voting Machines will be used in 46,389 polling stations for the simultaneous Lok Sabha and Assembly polls in the state on May 13. Besides these, another 20 per cent more EVMs have been kept ready, he said. In a release, Meena said, "Initially, it was estimated that 1.45 lakh EVMs would be sufficient for 46,165 polling stations.
