Coronavirus Outbreak Live Updates: With the fast growth of the novel Coronavirus across the globe, the people and concerned about the virus and are left in a panic. The virus, which evolved from the mainland of China recording 3267 deaths has slowed down in China. However, the COVID-19 is rapidly spreading throughout the world with more than 2,94,110 confirmed cases and 12,994 deaths. Coming to the Indian subcontinent, the corona cases reached to 415 including 33 in Telangana and 7 in Andhra Pradesh respectively. The total figure also includes four deaths reported from Delhi, Karnataka, Punjab and Maharastra.

    Two in Telangana test negative for COVID-19

    The samples were sent to the National Institute of Virology (NIV) in Pune for further confirmation.

    One of the two persons was working in a software company here as the virus scare hit the IT corridor at Cyberabad with a complex being "closed" for sanitisation.

    The state reported its first COVID-19 case on Monday when a 24-year-old software personnel, who recently returned from Dubai, tested positive for the virus. (PTI)

    Indian archery team pulls out of Asia Cup

    The Archery Association of India (AAI) on Thursday withdrew its team from the upcoming Asia Cup world ranking tournament in Bangkok owing to the coronavirus threat there. The season-opening stage 1 tournament is scheduled to be held in Thailand's capital from March 8 to 15. This would have been India's first international competition since their return from a five-month suspension. (PTI)

    India defers planned summit with EU due to coronavirus

    India said on Thursday it had postponed a planned summit with the European Union due to the coronavirus outbreak.

    India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi was due to travel to Brussels later this month for meetings with EU leaders.

    "Both sides have agreed that due to health authorities advising against travel between regions, it would be wise to reschedule the summit to a later, mutually convenient date," Raveesh Kumar, a spokesman for India's foreign ministry, told a news conference. (Reuters)

    Five people under observation in Andhra Pradesh

    Five people who have returned from Malaysia, Singapore and Baharain have been kept under observation, officials from Medical and Health Dept of the state said.

    Nodal officer for coronavirus in Visakhapatnam Pardhasarathi said, "Three persons of a family who returned from Malaysia and Singapore and two others from Baharain have been kept under observation in hospital."

    "Samples of 5 persons sent for tests," he added. (ANI)

    Switzerland reports first coronavirus death

    A 74-year-old woman suffering from the new coronavirus has died in Switzerland, marking the country's first death in the outbreak. The woman, who also suffered from a pre-existing chronic illness, had been considered "high risk" from the virus.
