Air India diverted Chicago-Delhi flight to avoid Afghan airspace
New Delhi: Amid the Taliban crisis in Afghanistan, Air India on Monday diverted its Chicago-Delhi flight to Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).Air India said that it took such a decision to avoid entering Afghanistan's airspace.According to the latest information, now the plane has landed in Sharjah.
Earlier, Kabul airport officials had said that Afghanistan's airspace was not under control.Officials said the Chicago-Delhi flight will land in Sharjah to refuel the plane.After this the flight will leave for Delhi and it will not use Afghan airspace.

Vizianagaram: Nadu-Nedu inaugurated
Vizianagaram: Deputy chief minister P.Pushpa Srivani has launched Mana Badi Nadu-Nedu at Raghu manda high school of Denkada mandal in Vizianagaram on Monday. Srivani said that the government of Andhrapradesh would change the entire education system by provide utmost standards and facilities in government schools. She said that in the phase one 1060 schools in the district are developed by spending Rs.278 crores. At the same time she has launched the distribution of Vidya Kanuka school kits for 2.26 lakhs of students in the district. The students would be encouraged by developing the schools in every aspect. MLAs, MLCs including collector A.Suryakumari have participated in the program.

Andhra Pradesh: Father-daughter duo died in lorry car collision in Prakasam district
In a ghastly road accident that occurred in the Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh, father and daughter were killed in the accident. The tragic incident took place on the national highway near Palle in the Markapuram mandal of Prakasam district. The truck and car collided on the highway on Monday morning. Sri Lanka imposes night curfew
In an renewed effort to curb the further spread of Covid-19, Sri Lankan authorities announced that a nationwide curfew would come into effect from Monday night until further notice as the number of confirmed cases surpassed the 350,000 mark.
Army Commander and Head of the National Operations Centre for the Prevention of Covid-19, General Shavendra Silva said the curfew would be imposed from 10 p.m. till 4 a.m. daily to prevent people from leaving their homes, reports Xinhua news agency.
