Coronavirus In India: India witnessed a substantial decrease in fresh Covid cases, reporting 2,38,018 new infections in the last 24 hours, and a total of 310 deaths, said the Union ministry of health and family welfare on Tuesday.
With the addition of the new deaths, the toll has reached 4,86,761.
On Monday, the country had reported 2,58,089 new cases and 385 deaths.
Meanwhile, the active caseload has jumped to 17,36,628, which constitute 4.62 per cent of the country's total positive cases.
The Omicron infection tally has risen to 8,891 across the nation, an increase of 8.31 per cent from Monday.
Coronavirus in Andhra Pradesh: Andhra Pradesh reported 6996 fresh Coronavirus cases taking the total tally to 21,17,384 cases across the state. While coming to fatalities, three deaths reported on Tuesday including two in Visakhapatnam and one each in Chittoor and Nellore taking the toll to 14513. On the other hand, as many as 1066 new patients were cured in the last twenty four hours taking the total recoveries to 20,67,762 and there are currently 36,108 active cases.
Coronavirus in Telangana: As many as 2,983 fresh cases of Coronavirus were registered in Telangana State till 5.30 pm on Tuesday while two people lost their lives due to the virus in the last 24 hours.
With this increase, the total number of Coronavirus positive cases in the State has increased to 7,14,639 while the death toll increased to 4,062.
Following directions of the Telangana High Court more than one lakh samples were tested today. A total of 1,07,904 samples were tested till 5:30 pm on Tuesday which took the total number of tests to 3,08,17,562.
According to the Media Bulletin issued by the Director of Public Health & Family Welfare, of 2,983 new cases, as many as 1,206 cases were recorded in Greater Hyderabad alone while 259 cases in Medchal Malkajgiri, 227 cases in Rangareddy and 118 cases in Hanamkonda district were also registered.
On Tuesday, a total of 2,706 people recovered from the disease. Presently, there are 22,472 Active Cases in Telangana State.

Some Covid-19 patients may be infectious even after ten days: Study
One in ten people may still be infectious for SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes Covid-19, after the 10 day quarantine period, according to a study. The research, published recently in the International Journal of Infectious Diseases, used a newly adapted test which can detect whether the virus was potentially still active.
The test was applied to samples from 176 people in Exeter, UK, who had tested positive on standard PCR tests. The team led by researchers at the University of Exeter found that 13 per cent of people still exhibited clinically-relevant levels of virus after 10 days, meaning they could potentially still be infectious.
