Coronavirus in Andhra Pradesh: Andhra Pradesh reported 1892 fresh cases taking the total tally to 23,06,943 cases across the state. While coming to fatalities, five deaths reported in the last 24 hours taking the toll to 14677. On the other hand, as many as 10,241 new patients were cured in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 22,38,226 and there are currently 54,040 active cases.
According to district-wise data, East Godavari district reported 440 new infections, followed By Krishna 356, Guntur 222 while Srikakulam has logged the least cases with 21 new cases in the last twenty-four hours.

COVID-19 third wave ended in Telangana
Telangana State Public Health director Dr G Srinivas Rao said that COVID-19 third wave has ended in the state. "Telangana has reached its peak in COVID-19 infections on January 23 when the positivity rate went up to five per cent. However, the positivity rate is below two per cent at present," Srinivas Rao said, adding that the third phase of COVID-19 has ended. Read Full Story

Views of experts to be taken on vaccination for children below 15 years: Mandaviya
With reopening of schools raising concern over the safety of children below 15 years of age, Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Tuesday said in the Rajya Sabha that the government will take a decision to vaccinate this group based on suggestions of an expert group.The government has constituted an expert group to give suggestions on which age group to be given COVID-19 vaccine first and accordingly vaccination for the 15-18 age group is underway, he said during the Question Hour.

Global Covid caseload tops 397 million
The global coronavirus caseload has topped 397 million, while the deaths have surged to more than 5.74 million and vaccinations to over 10.07 billion, according to Johns Hopkins University.In its latest update on Tuesday morning, the University's Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) revealed that the current global caseload and the death toll stood at 397,053,590 and 5,749,136, respectively, while the total number of vaccine doses administered has increased to 10,071,840,408.

China reports 65 new local Covid-19 cases
China on Monday recorded 65 locally transmitted COVID-19 cases, the National Health Commission said on Tuesday.Of the new local infections, 64 were reported in Guangxi and one in Tianjin, Xinhua reported citing the commission report.Monday also saw seven provincial-level regions reporting 40 imported COVID-19 cases, said the commission.
