Going against the centre's attitude over paddy procurement in Telangana, the TRS launched 'Mahadharna' at Dharna Chowk in Indira Park in Hyderabad. Ministers, MLAs, MPs, MLCs, DCCB, DCMS, Rythu Bandhu samiti and market chairmen were also present. The dharna which will be held ftom 11 am to 2 pm is being led by the TRS supremo and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao who also took part in the gathering. After the 'Mahadharna', the CM is likely submit a memorandum to the state governor Tamilisai Soundararajan. It is learned that K Chandrasekhar Rao will take a padayatra to Raj Bhavan along with the ministers and MLAs.

A couple sustained injuries after the load of a container fell on a car here at Suraram under Dundigal police station limits on Wednesday midnight. The police said that the load fell off container due to its overspeed and the couple escaped with minor injuries. However, their car was completely damaged in the incident. Passersby who noticed the accident rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to a hospital. They also arrested the driver who found to be driving the vehicle in inebriated state. They registered a case and launched an investigation.

The counting of Parishad elections has begun on Thursday today. The State Election Commission officials have started the Counting of votes for MPTC and ZPTC elections under tight security to prevent any untoward incidents at the counting centers. The results of the 10 ZPTC and 123 MPTC seats will be declared today. Among the total 14 ZPTC seats, 04 seats were declared unanimous and the election was held for 10 seats. While out of 176 MPTC seats, 50 seats were declared unanimous. The counting continues in the remaining positions where the elections were held.Read more

The government has taken steps to create employment along with existing vacancies in the medical health sector on a large scale. The orders were issued for the recruitment of a total of 10,865 posts of which, 7,390 are currently vacant and 3,475 are newly created. Muddada Ravi Chandra, Principal Secretary, Department of Medical Health, on Wednesday issued directions to fill the vacancies in the posts of Director of Medical Education (DME), Andhra Pradesh Medical Council, and Director of Public Health. Of the 15 medical colleges under the DME, 1,952 posts were vacant in the 35 hospitals affiliated to them, and 2,190 posts were created. There are 2,520 posts vacant under APVVP and of the 2,918 posts vacant under the Director of Public Health, 1,285 posts were created.Read more
