Rahul Ravindran directed Nagarjuna Akkineni and Rakul Preet Singh in the new movie Manmadhudu 2. The film is in the theatres now. Annapurna Studios bankrolled the project. The film unit is pretty happy with the way the movie shaped up, and it was promoted well too. The film is a remake of a famous French movie. Read on to know the review of Manmadhudu 2.

Story:

Sam (Nagarjuna Akkineni) aka Sambasiva Rao is a perfumer living in Portugal along with his family members. Sam hates women. He doesn't fall in Love but prefers to make love to women. When his family wants Sam to get married, Sam brings Avanthika (Rakul) as his girlfriend but eventually, Sam falls in troubles, because of the same. What did Sam do then? What troubles did he face? What happens in the end? Forms the story of the movie.

Performances:

Nagarjuna's outstanding performance can be considered as one of the major driving factors behind this movie. Nag is looking young and dynamic in the film. Nag went under the skin of the character and has delivered his best performance. Rakul Preet looked gorgeous in the movie. Her energetic performance added more strength to the film. She also maintained decent chemistry with Nagarjuna. Lakshmi did complete justice to her role. Vennela Kishore is outstanding in his role. His comedy timing will never fail to bring laughs in the theatres. Rao Ramesh acted naturally. Devadarshini and Jhansi justified their roles. The cameo appearances by Samantha and Keerthy Suresh and Akshara Gowda will also grab the attention of the audiences.

Technical Aspects:

Director Rahul Ravindran has failed to prepare yet another refreshing and exciting love story for this movie like his first one. He has narrated it in an unimpressive way, which will test the patience of the audiences. He has executed the script in a pale manner. The production values by Nagarjuna Akkineni are wealthy. Most of the shooting took place in Portugal, and every scene makes it evident that the production values became a plus point for the film. Music by Chaitan Bharadwaj is disappointing. The audio album of the movie has failed to grab the attention, and now his background score is also good and elevated all the emotions well. Cinematographer Sukumar M is worth appreciating as he has produced some mind-blowing visuals for the film. Editing by Chota K Prasad is okay!

Verdict:

Story of 'Manmadhudu 2' has nothing to do with 'Manmadhudu' movie. It would be better for the audience to see it as a new story instead of comparing it with the original version. Basically, there is no story in this Manmadhudu 2. The movie starts on an interesting note, and the entire first half is filled with the comedy scenes. The conflict never comes up in the movie and it only looks like a boring drama. The director failed to make the second half, interesting. Nag's energetic performance, cinematography, music, and the comedy can be considered as the plus points of this film. Overall, 'Manmadhudu 2' is not up to the mark.
