Give a blanket clearance to PM

Many might have missed the small news item "Modi gets clean chit from EC on Nuclear button remarks" (THI 3 May).

The clean chit to PM Modi has become a bit of joke and your paper seems to have rightly gave a small space.

However, the EC which is working under tremendous pressure under present government, instead of giving clean chit to PM Modi and Party President Amit Shah on piece meal basis, it would be good if EC declares that the speeches given by Modi and Shah in the past and continue until end of election campaign are clean and they don't see any MCC violation.

This would help them to just concentrate on speeches by opposition and punish for MCC violation.
