Green issues and elections

Urban planning in our country has been so erratic that many of the cities' unregulated growth is unbridled. Public transport system has to be in place reducing dependence on ever increasing automobiles on the congested roads.

Traffic police fines have failed to check auto pollution as the mandatory pollution certificates are being issued without proper check of vehicles. People have to be made aware about the daily generation of carbon emissions and that need to be compensated by compulsory planting of trees in the congested pathways.

Massive deforestation for roads and infrastructure building is never compensated by honest reforestation. Sadly, such issues are seldom made any election issues too and the result is before us.
