Hyderabad airport deserves more awards

It was heartening to read that Rajiv Gandhi International Airport has been judged as one of the 10 best Airports in the world. However, few more awards are due to it. This is the only airport where you can't receive arriving guest without paying and buying a ticket.

Otherwise persons coming to receive has no seat and has to stand outside. GMR must be congratulated for thus reducing traffic to the Airport. RGIA has always consistently refused to cooperate in connecting a rail line to city sighting security of passengers, even though Hyderabad to Bangalore railway line passes a few kilometres away. We must be grateful to RGIA to keep our security at heart while of all the Airports from New York to London to Tokyo have rail connection and are compromising the security of passengers.

RGIA is also promoting home cooking by selling idly at around Rs.140. Vanishing toilets and appearance of new shops must also be appreciated as people get more shopping options. Only one toilet is there for international passengers at departure lounge.

RGIA is also saving water by hiding and displaying no signs for free water fountains while plastic water bottles for sale have many dispensing machines located conspicuously. So RGIA deserves many more awards.
