At last now the ECI is wielding its whip and trying to bring about some discipline and order in election process. By barring CM of UP, Chief of BSP, a Union Minister and a leader of Samajwadi Party from poll campaign, it sent right message to the politicians who are behaving in a highly objectionable manner.
In this context, it is very apt to remember the working style of ex-CEC T.N.Seshan. He proved that the ECI is not a paper tiger and it can dictate terms to any politician or political party in the country. Taking inspiration from him, the present CEC too should try to make the politicians understand their limitations and responsibilities in public life.
