Secunderabad: Dr Paul Dhinakaran, founder-director of Jesus Calls Ministries International,held a 72-hour prayer for the nation, which concludedon Wednesday at Secunderabad.

Several Bishops of leading churches, independent church pastors and Christian leaders of various denominations participated in a gathering of about 3,500 people.

Addressing the gathering, Dr Paul Dhinakaran prayed for the success of the forthcoming general elections and for good governance in the country. He appealed to people to fast and pray for the well-being of the country as well as the people who will be electing their leaders to give them great vision in the development of the society and the country. He urged to also pray for their good health and God's strength to be upon the important leaders who will put their mind and strength for the good of mankind.

He said that the country would prosper like never before in all aspects. He prayed for the neighbouring countries of India for God's peace and harmony to prevail. He prayed for the people of Telangana & Andhra Pradesh and the present leadership of the two states. He emphasised the need for fervent prayers for the leaders by all the churches and Christian leaders for the will of God to be established all over the country.

Earlier, Dr A C Solomon, Bishop ofMedak Diocese (Church of South India),spoke. He prayed for the success of the general elections. He said that people should strive to uplift the lives of "our dear brothers and sisters who are poor and needy."Dr Satish Kumar of Calvary Templepraised the Jesus Calls Ministries for 72-hour prayer for the nation which is the need of the hour. He said that nothing is impossible with prayer and God. "Every person of our State needs to live a happy and comfortable life and only God can provide our needs."
