Akshaya Patra launches breakfast in govt schools
On the occasion of Children’s Day, Gland Pharma Limited in partnership with the Akshaya Patra Foundation launched a breakfast programme in the city.
Patancheru: On the occasion of Children's Day, Gland Pharma Limited in partnership with the Akshaya Patra Foundation launched a breakfast programme in the city. It will benefit 7,500 children studying in government schools in Dundigal, Patancheru, Kandi mandals of Telangana, Duvvada and Parwada mandals of Andhra Pradesh. Gland Pharma will sponsor the programme for two-and-a-half years.
The programme was inaugurated by Malla Reddy, Minister of Labour, Women & Child Development in the presence of KP Vivekananda, MLA and Srinivas Sadu, MD & CEO of Gland Pharma and Satya Gaura Chandra Dasa, unit president of The Akshaya Patra Foundation, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, District Education Officer, Medchal and other dignitaries at ZP High School, Dundigal.
Satya Gaura Chandra Dasa said, "We are glad to partner with Gland Pharma for this breakfast programme in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. A nutritious breakfast in the beginning of the day would help address hunger among school children and boost their learning outcomes by improving their concentration level." He further added, "We are grateful to the governments of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh for granting permission to serve children of these states through Mid-Day Meal and breakfast programme."
