Nampally: The century-old orphanage, Anees-ul-Ghurba near Nampally railway Station will now house the head office of Telangana Minorities Residential Educational Institutions Society (TMREIS). The rent to be collected from the Society will be used for the maintenance of the orphanage.

On Wednesday, Advisor to State Government (Minority Welfare) A K Khan, AIMIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi, TS Wakf Board Chairman Mohammed Saleem, TSWB CEO M A Hameed and Minority Welfare Director Shahnawaz Qasim and other Wakf committee members along with the officials of R&B department made a visit to Anees-ul-Ghurba located near Ek-Minar Masjid in Nampally.

During their visit, they inspected the ongoing construction works of the building and instructed the R&B officials to complete the works in time.

Later speaking to media persons, Mohammed Saleem said that committee members made a visit to review the construction site as the construction works were going at a slow pace. They instructed the officials of R&B department for speeding up the project works, as they had been delayed. Speaking about the budget he said that the budget was ready and almost whole funds were released for the construction of orphanage.

He also said that they decided that Anees-ul-Ghurba which includes the Madarsa along with hostel for orphans, would now house the head office of TMREIS. "We decided to give a rented space for the head office of the society, which will help in generating funds for the maintenance of orphanage. This project will be completed in next 4 months," said Saleem.

At the end of the financial year 2018-19, The Hans India reported that delay in funding for one of the important projects whose foundation stone was laid by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao put it stay behind the schedule, whose works began in 2017.

According to official sources, for a state-of-art multi-storied building with a budget of Rs 20 crore was one of the dream projects of Wakf Board. The amount was sanctioned during the first term of the TRS government, which was just Rs 8 crore, was released.

Even though the project was marked for completion by February 2019, it remains way far behind the schedule as only slab for the first floor was laid, while it has yet to come up with G+3 building as part of the reconstruction.

The old building constructed during the time of Nizam was in a 350 sq yards. But after formation of Telangana, the Wakf Board decided to come up with a bigger complex on entire land of 4,500 sq yds, as part of development and was cited as the ambitious project for minority welfare by the TRS government.
