GHMC elections 2020: Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath Das, BJP national president, JP Nadda to campaign for the saffron party on the last three days of the election campaign in the GHMC elections.

Disclosing this during while addressing media here on Wednesday, BJP National OBC Morcha president Dr K Laxman said Union Home Minister Amit Shah would participate in a roadshow in Secunderabad on the last day of the campaign on November 29. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Das will take part in a roadshow in Hyderabad and Chevella parliament seats on November 27. Similarly, party's national president JP Nadda will take part in a road show in Malkajgiri and intellectuals meet on November 28.

Laxman said that the party's election manifesto will be released by former Maharashtra Chief Minister Devender Fadnavis on Thursday. Besides, Sadhvi Niranjan Jyothi is campaigning for the party reaching out to different sections among the backward and weaker sections in the city and Union Minister Smriti Irani took part in the campaign on Wednesday, he said.

Laxman said that the party national leaders have agreed to take part in the campaign in the GHMC elections at the request of the State BJP, the reason being, the TRS government had recently brought an amendment to the municipal act, making no distinction between the party and the government. Also, it was literally taking control of the State Election Commission (SEC) and making it a mere spectator in the process of conducting the GHMC elections. In turn, the government machinery was being misused to its advantage for winning the elections, besides, using the money power. Against this backdrop, the national leaders would be participating in the GHMC election campaign to reach out to different sections of people in the GHMC to further consolidate the growing strength and support of the BJP among the people.
