Bonalu held grandly at Gowliguda temple

Gowliguda: The Bonalu festival was celebrated here on Sunday on a grand note, reflecting the Telangana culture and traditions under the auspices of Gowliguda Mahankali Devalaya Trust.

Devotees in large numbers, mostly women, offered 'Bonalu' to the Goddess amid 'band-baja,' excited 'Pothrajus,' and playing of devotional songs. Vice-president of the trust Anand Goud said the credit for bringing recognition to various festivals should go to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.

Devotees also made a beeline to the temples in Bashirbagh and Gowliguda. Among those present at the Renuka Yellamma temple in Gowliguda were Gunfoundry Corporator Mamata Santosh Gupta and her husband.
