Bring in Grade Point Average, reduce stress on students

Nampally: The President of Private Junior College Managements' Association, Narender Reddy, said that free coaching would be given to failed Inter students who have failed in the recent exams due to Inter board fiasco. He was speaking at a meeting convened by the association to discuss government decisions and Inter board irregularities, at their office here on Friday.

Speaking at the meeting, Narender Reddy said that they had been bringing the irregularities of Inter board to the notice of Education Minister since last one and half years but there was no response from them. Inter board officials did not respond to their apprehensions on the capability of Globarina, the firm, which was assigned with conduct of Inter exams, he said.

The image of the state government was badly hit due to the fiasco, he said. He assured the state government that their lecturers would extend full support to it in the process of revaluation. He appealed the state government to return the fees collected for revaluation to students as it was a mistake of the board. The board should not pressurise lecturers to complete assessment as this may result in unnecessary problems in evaluation of papers, he said.

Narender Reddy suggested the government to introduce Grade Point Average (GPA) to minimise the stress among students. He appealed the government to take stringent measures to prevent such incidents in future.
