Patancheru: Local Congress leaders have extended support to the mass hunger strike by RTC employees' families 'to protect the RTC' at Ramachandrapuram bus-stop. The fast was organised in response to the call given by the RTC Employees Joint Action Committee (JAC).

The employees stated that the fast would continue until a solution was found to end the strike. RTC JAC general secretary Hanmanthu, who visited the hunger strike camp, accused Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao of changing his stand on the strike almost daily and trying to disrupt RTC so as to break the strike.

He said the fast would continue to expose KCR's conspiracy and till a solution was found to the problems facing the corporation. Hanmanthu challenged KCR to provide copy of the order dismissing the striking RTC employees.

State Women's Congress general secretary Godavari Anji Reddy, who also expressed support to the fast, said the party would continue to support the fast until all demands of RTC employees were met. She criticised KCR for his comments at his recent press conference. Among the Congressmen present was INTUC leader Narsimha Reddy and RTC union leader Srinivas.
