Crowd funding helps 2 girls and 1 Boy pursue studies

Hyderabad: Each year, Ramesh Manickavel does something special on his birthday. He picks a social cause and then puts a request to his network to support his cause.

For this birthday, which is on September 26, he put up a fundraiser on the crowdfunding platform ImpactGuru.com for his cause. His campaign targeted Rs 3.2 lakh, and it is dedicated to support the tuition and hostel fee of three underprivileged students Swetha, Dharani, and Vani. They raised Rs 2.5 lakh so far.

Swetha is pursuing her B Com (Computers - Business Analytics), while Dharani is in her BSc (Electronics) final year and Vani is in her first year of Engineering. Swetha and Dharani are studying in Bhavan's Vivekananda College in Hyderabad, and Vani is studying at Geethanjali College of Engineering and Technology in Hyderabad.

Swetha, who hails from Mahbubnagar, lost her mother when she was 6 years old. Sweta's father works as a watchman. Dharani, who hails from Hyderabad, lost her father in an accident 7 years ago. Her mother works as a casual labourer. Vani lost her mother when she was 7 years old. All three girls belong to the BPL strata of society and needed help to sustain their education.

Knowing about their financial condition, Ramesh decided to took up the crowdfunding to help Swetha, Dharani and Vani with their tuition and hostel fees. Ramesh's fundraiser on ImpactGuru.com has so far raised over Rs.1.95 lakhs. https://www.impactguru.com/fundraiser/help-sphoorti-foundation-1.
