Leaders of CPI(ML) New Democracy alleged that comrade Linganna was killed by police in a fake encounter.
Baghlingampally: Leaders of CPI(ML) New Democracy alleged that comrade Linganna was killed by police in a fake encounter. They demanded that the State government conduct investigation of the encounter with a sitting judge and register a criminal case under IPC 302 against the police. They were addressing a press conference organised here at Sundaraiah Vignana Kendram on Thursday.
Speaking to media, Govardhan, state president of CPI(ML) New Democracy, alleged that police killed Linganna in a fake encounter at Rollapadu village of Gundala mandal in Bhadradri, Kothagudem district on Wednesday. He condemned the fake encounter and demanded that the State government take necessary action against the police. He said that the dead body of the killed person was not handed over to his kin.
He demanded that the police hand over his dead body to his kin for conducting last rites. He also demanded the release of the state general secretary of CPI(ML) Newdemocracy Sadhineni Venkateshwar Rao, SK Muktar Pasha, Gummadi Narsaiah and others who were arrested by the police. He alleged that the police arrested leaders of various people's organisations and their leaders to prevent them from attending the last rites.
He termed the police actions as undemocratic. He warned of severe consequences if the government continues to indulge in fake encounters. POW leader Sandhya, K Achyut Rao, M Srinivas, Anuradha, Parashuram and others were present.
