RTC crossroads: Private drivers association undertook a candle rally from Indira Park to RTC crossroads on Thursday, demanding the state government to help the family of the driver Gurunatham who died to burns in an effort to save Abdullapurmet MRO Vijaya Reddy.

Speaking to media during the rally, the association president Edelli Naveen Kumar demanded the state government to announce Rs 20 lakh ex-gratia and a job to a family member of the deceased driver.

Expressing his sorrow over the death of the driver and MRO, he said that everyone was concerned about the death of MRO, but no one was thinking of poor driver who died while saving the officer. He warned that private drivers would stage statewide protests if their demands were not met.

Vice president of the association Cheekati Ellesh, general secretary Palle Krishna, joint secretary M Anjaiah, treasurer Nampally Sreenu, G Laddu, Srisailam, Sanjeeva Reddy, Yadagiri and others participated in the candle rally.
