Patancheru: Trade unions CITU, INTUC, AITUC, HMS and TNTUC at a meeting in Shramika Bhavan here on Wednesday resolved to stage a dharna at the Sangareddy Collectorate on August 2 under the auspices of the employees federation to protest against the anti-labour policies of the Narendra Modi government. Leaders of the trade unions Panduranga Reddy, K Rajayya, Narsimha Reddy, Wajid Ali, Manohar Prasad gave a call for dharna, warning the government to give up the anti-labour policies.

They wanted the Bill introduced in Parliament to amend wage code and other laws to be withdrawn. The leaders alleged that the Centre was favouring corporate forces to the detriment of the working class. They accused the government of backing corporates after promising job security before the 2019 elections.

The TU leaders called for a united struggle of working class for protecting their laws. They also urged other TUs to make the dharna a success by joining the protest. Among those present at the meeting were trade union leader was Srinivas.
